It's Monday again

Back for what has become my weekly update! I've got some new pics and I think I only missed 1 day! Not too bad for me! :)

Friday night we got the boys, Ian & Jacob, around 5pm and they stayed the night. We celebrated their birthday's on Saturday and took them shopping. We still are not too sure what they are into so we just let them pick out a couple things. They both seemed happy with the results! Had cake and ice cream, who doesn't love that!? lol

It was a good visit though being the first overnight visit in years. It's nice to know that Scott is finally able to see them on a regular basis, I really hope it continues. Apparently it seems to work best to go through the ex's mom, their gma, so that is what we do. Good thing she and Scott have a good relationship even now.

Last night at bedtime I put Quinn down and he didn't fuss and all. I went out and finished watching the awards show. I never heard anything from him so I thought he'd fallen fast asleep. So, when I'm ready to head to bed I decide to check in on him. I open the door and get a little voice from his bed saying "hi mommy" :) I go in, he says "time to get up?" I tell him no and that it is still night night time and mommy is going to bed too. He smiles and askes for a kiss, I give him one and start to walk out. He starts to whine, I'm thinking 'great'. I go back to his bed and he asks for another kiss, this is a first! lol So I go to give him another and he places his hands on either side of my cheek and proceeds to give me a bunch of kisses! Awwww....that was just too heartwarming! :) I love that lil man so much!

Back after a long weekend

Worked all weekend and it was a long one. I do feel accomplished though, I got about 5hrs of training videos watched, and believe me in the middle of the night when you're fighting to stay awake, that is a BIG accomplishment! lol For my job we have to complete a set number of training hours every year, some mandatory trainings and then we can fill the rest in with job related materials. I have until the end of May to get the total of 50hrs done!!! I'm at like 20 plus the 5 I did this weekend, so about 1/2 way there! That's my own fault though, well kinda, it's hard to get to daytime trainings when I work overnights and then have no daycare (the reason I work overnights) but with grandma retired now and only working a few hours I'll be able to make more of them. March is going to be a busy month with them, but then by the end of the month I should be about done.

Not much else happening really. We really do live a fairly boring life. Sad but true. Quinn is doing good and growing like a weed. I swear he talks more and more every day. We are learning to watch what we say! Ian & Jacob will be coming to visit again this weekend, possibly the first overnight visit, hope that goes well. We will be celebrating their birthdays so should be fun.

Been doing fairly good at taking daily pics for my late starting 365 Project, working on editing them ATM so they will be added here shortly, in this post I'm sure. Some are on my moms camera so those will be late added, but hey, so far so good. :)

My Version of Project 365

I didn't start at the begining of the year and I don't have pics from each and every day thus far, but I would really like to start now and see how I do. Not sure that I'll get the pic a day done but even a few a week would be great for me! So this post is me playing catch up a bit! This first pic 2/12/09 is of one of my favorite little crafts I've ever picked up. It's a little picture frame, has a clothespin on the back to hold a pic, one of Quinn, and I just love the saying on it. How very true.

Just a boring Sunday

Just sitting here about to start a new game I started playing online, Sling-du-ko and thought I'd stop here first! Hasn't been a very productive week really. Been kinda lazy actually and today I'm just lounging around, did a load of laundry and then Scott and I may have our Valentine's Day tonight since I work all next weekend. I REALLY want to go out to HuHot Mongolian Grill, YUMMY!!! And then maybe a movie, it's been a long time since we've done that. Kinda sad really. Quinn is currently napping, he's been fighting a runny/stuffy nose all week. Poor little guy, but he's fairly good about letting you wipe his nose and he'll even blow a little for you! lol

Yesterday we enjoyed the company of Ian & Jacob. Scott's oldest 2 boys. The relationship has been strained to put it nicely and not get into long crappy stories. But this past summer their grandparents have been helping Scott to see them more b/c they were asking to. It's been really nice seeing them and getting a relationship started with them. I pray that it lasts for EVERYONE involved. So far all we've done is have them for the day but their grandma mentioned the possibility of having them for overnights starting with the next visit. We're all for it and hope it happens! The next visit with them, in 2wks, will be just before their bdays, so we're trying to come up with ideas of things to do with them and something to get them. They will be 11 & 8 and all they care to get are more video games but I'd like to have other options for them to have to do while with us. Quinn just loves when they come, he enjoys being around them soo much that those are the worst days we have to put him down for his naps b/c he doesn't want to leave his Ian & Jacob! Awww :)

Otherwise, not much else happening. Sounds like more crap in dealing with Scott's disability, and a start over. Which is crap! ARGH!!! Also, the amount that he is getting for what he was actually approved for is little of nothing so of course once again we get screwed there and will not be able to do even a portion of what we'd hoped to be able to do with the money. Mostly pay bills off, so again they get put on the back burner until we can afford to pay them. Sucks, but what can you do? I just hope and pray that I get all of my taxes back, honestly their is NO reason why I should not, but I worry just the same. At least with that, again if I get it all, I'm planning to pay off some bills then and then put some into savings to have for when we need it. I'm thinking of splurging on myself this time around and getting myself a new laptop and just get rid of my desktop. I deserve a little something for working so hard and supporting the family all on my own right?! But we'll see! lol I think that is my new motto...."We'll see" seems like I have to submit to that all the time in our life of uncertainties.

It's Monday!

Here I am back after a long weekend at work. Weekends at work suck and they don't, it's kind of like a double edge sword I suppose. Sucks working weekends but at least I don't have to get the kids up on Sat. or Sun. so that is the nice thing. Plus weekends is when I actually take the laptop with me and work on some picture editing and digiscrapping and now digi scrap kit making! This weekend I actually got 2 kits done and started a 3rd! Plus did one that I'm not sure I'll put up but may use the papers w/my other kits. So, all in all was a pretty productive weekend on that front! :) Now I'm in the process of trying to get the stuff uploaded to post, for some reason my uploading is taking forever. So I hope to get at least one posted on my MoonChylde Creations blog tonight. The other I finished will be part of my very first blog train that will be up at the end of Feb. So, I've got some time to get that one up and ready.

Quinn has been a little terror tonight. Went out to supper and he was a little stinker, wouldn't eat and yelled and fussed the entire time. Probably b/c he didn't get a chance to nap today with the new furnace being put in, was too loud so we didn't even try for a nap, guess that's what we get! lol Maybe he'll go to bed earlier then tonight! Would be kinda nice since he's so crabby! Will see. Otherwise he's good, had some visitors this weekend, his 'cousin' Morgan visited for a couple hours on Fri and again today, they had fun together, she is 4. Then on Sat. Quinn's older bothers Ian (10) and Jacob (7) visited for the day. It's been nice seeing them finally and I hope that it continues this time. They all need each other. Their birthday's are at the end of the month so we are trying to think of something fun to do for them. Scott requested that I make a cake and maybe we'll see what they'd like for a meal and make their requests.
